Senior Full Stack Engineer (Shopify, React, Node.JS, Typescript)

Well, good news, We’re looking to grow the team! DotCollective is on the lookout for a Senior Full Stack Javascript Engineer to join our newly created Connect Product squad building out cutting-edge unified commerce solutions for our clients. As a Senior Engineer at DotCollective you'll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining innovative high-performance eCommerce solutions that meet our clients' business needs, exceeding their expectations.

So what’s the role?

In Senior Engineers, we first and foremost look for those with a generative and positive mindset to improve themselves; processes and the overall developer culture. It’s important for a Senior to want to help the team; be reliable; autonomous and have the desire to go above and beyond to solve problems.

Verbal communication is key for this role.. Being able to scope tasks; estimate timings; adhering to said timings and flagging early when any problems arise - asking for help when necessary. Furthermore, communication with non-technical stakeholders such as your Delivery Lead; UX Designers & Management is expected and occasionally you will be asked to enter discussions with clients to solve problems.

To add, written communication in documentation is critical for us. Our Seniors will be required to follow internal & external (clients/partner’s) documentation - from Github through to Slack. On top of this having the skill to document effectively and clearly is also a must have skill.

For this role you will have a high level of proficiency in our tech stack being React, Shopify; Node.JS; Typescript with Firebase being a nice to have. Senior’s should also be able to assist their Technical Lead in architecting a solution and/or helping out with deployments onto AWS/GCP.

So, that all sounds nice, but what skills do you need?

• High-Level Proficiency: React; Node.JS; Typescript; AWS or GCP
• Scoping Tasks: Ability to break down projects into manageable tasks and define project scope effectively.
• Estimation of Timelines: Develop proficiency in accurately estimating project timelines based on task complexity and scope.
• Deployment: Proficient in deployment processes to ensure smooth project deployment.
• Problem-Solving: Cultivate a problem-solving mindset, consistently seeking and providing solutions.
• Mentoring: Actively engage in mentoring and helping team members, sharing knowledge and providing guidance.
• Documentation Skills: Demonstrate excellent documentation skills to ensure clear and comprehensive documentation of all work.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Clear Technical Communication: Effectively communicate technical aspects to non-technical stakeholders, including delivery leads and clients where necessary.
• Autonomy and Initiative: Display a self-starting attitude, showing autonomy in task execution and taking initiative.

• Research and Innovation: Proactively research and explore new technologies and methodologies, aiming to enhance efficiency across the business and development practice.
